This rant is from the multiple political ideologies that live inside my head. They need a place to come out and play. (In a politically offensive way) Entry into this space is not advised!

What have we become?

I have spent over half my life in the south and deep south. It is hard not conclude that they are a very privative people. Like the ancient Romans and Greeks they believe the world is full of gods and monsters. They just rename these creatures angels and demons. Just as the ancient Greeks would make sacrifices to appease the gods, the conservative Christian prays that god will interceded to protect them from the demonic forces that surround them. And like all primitive people they believe their god is the true god while all the others are just false. They call on their god to smite their enemies and make war so that they can convert the non believer to the true god.

If I were from an advance space faring civilization I certainly would not land on this planet. Is it any wonder that mass chaos and panic occurred when Orson wells broadcast “War of the Worlds”.

This makes me so sad. That we have made such strides in understanding the universe and at the last minute by the narrowest of margins, elect to be ruled by a idiot who views science as some kind of rival religion that must be defeated.

I think the whole thing would be much more palatable if they actually attempted to follow the teaching and philosophy they so violently profess allegiance to. Ultimately it is the hypocrisy that drives my insane.

One one hand they say abortion is murder. Then they turn around and say preemptive war is ok? Killing a fetus is evil but collateral damage that blow the arms off a little boy is good. To say that an evil dictator must be removed then start a war that kills more people than he ever did?

What is evil and what is good?

If abortion and murder is evil then how is war good?

If a man promises to stop abortions but believes in preemptive war is he good or evil.

In the face of enormous social and peer pressure Jesus refused to take up arms against the Romans. So how can his followers ever justify any war? Let alone a preemptive one.

If you kill thousand of innocent civilians as "collateral damage" isn't it murder?

If life starts at conception then aren't the tens of thousands of embryos destroyed at in-vitro fertilization clinics every year murder.

If a man claims to follow the teaching of Christ then violates them by causing the deaths of tens of thousand of people isn't he evil?

If Christ were alive today he would weep.
